This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Work From Home (WFH) and WFH preferences at the Tegal District Health Office during the COVID-19 pandemic. The population consists of all employees of the Tegal District Health Office who worked during the pandemic, with a sample of 91 respondents selected using a saturated sampling (census) technique. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that family support, communication urgency, and technological literacy have a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of WFH. However, the effectiveness of WFH is not proven to have a significant effect on employees’ WFH preferences. These findings suggest that while personal and technological factors enhance WFH effectiveness, they do not necessarily determine employees’ preference for continuing WFH arrangements.
