Analysis of Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure in Islamic Banking in Indonesia

This study was conducted to obtain empirical evidence regarding the level of conformity of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Islamic Commercial Banks (Bank Umum Syariah/BUS) in Indonesia with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Islamic Social Reporting (ISR), and Ethical Identity Index (EII). The population in this study were Islamic Commercial Banks (BUS) in Indonesia. The sampling method used was purposive sampling on all Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the observation period of 2013–2015. The sample obtained consisted of 11 Islamic Commercial Banks. The analytical method applied in this study was content analysis. The results show that the Ethical Identity Index (EII) has the highest level of conformity with an average disclosure of 72.12%, followed by Islamic Social Reporting (ISR) with an average disclosure of 51.66%, and the lowest is the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) with an average disclosure of 33.21%.
