The Effect of Transformational Leadership and Motivation on Organizational Citizenship Behavior through Organizational Commitment as an Intervening Variable

Organizational citizenship behavior is a personal contribution that exceeds role demands in the workplace and is given voluntarily to support task achievement. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of transformational leadership and motivation on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) through organizational commitment as an intervening variable. The sample of this study consisted of 51 respondents from a total population of 51 employees, using a saturated sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression models with two models and multiple tests. The results showed that organizational commitment, transformational leadership, and motivation have a positive and significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Transformational leadership and motivation also have a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment. Furthermore, transformational leadership influences organizational citizenship behavior through organizational commitment as an intervening variable, while motivation does not have an indirect effect on organizational citizenship behavior through organizational commitment.
