Analysis of the Effect of Real Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and Inflation on Unemployment in Serang City

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of Real Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and inflation on unemployment in Serang using time series data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the period 2011–2022. Economic growth is expected to improve community welfare and can be reflected through increased real GRDP and controlled inflation, although challenges such as unemployment remain obstacles to sustainable development. The analysis results indicate that real GRDP and inflation simultaneously do not have a significant effect on unemployment levels. However, the partial t-test results show that inflation has a negative effect on unemployment levels. The coefficient of determination results indicate that the real GRDP and inflation variables jointly explain 16.0% of the changes in the dependent variable, while the remaining 84.0% is influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study.
