Workload and Human Resource Needs Analysis in the Business Activities of the Fruit and Vegetable Supplier “Cahaya Buah” Semarang Using the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Method

This study aims to analyze workload and labor requirements at Cahaya Buah Semarang, a fruit and vegetable supplier. Using a mixed-method approach, the research combines qualitative methods through interviews and observations with quantitative analysis using the Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) method to measure workload levels. Data were collected from 10 informants consisting of 2 women and 8 men working in distribution and packing divisions. The results show that both distribution and packing teams are experiencing workload overload. In the distribution division, FTE values exceed the ideal capacity, with 2.28 for Armada 1 and 2.4 for Armada 2. Similarly, the packing division also shows overload conditions, with FTE values ranging from 1.44 to 1.88 across several categories. These findings highlight the need for effective human resource planning to address excessive workload and improve operational efficiency. The study recommends improving workforce management by adjusting the number of employees and strengthening labor planning strategies to reduce workload imbalance and enhance productivity and service quality at Cahaya Buah Semarang.
